Time to move from Sanur to Seminyak

Wednedsay 18 September, 2013

Today we moved from Wayan's villa to Puri Cendana Resort in Seminyak.
This is our 2nd stay at Puri Cendana. Love it's old style Balinese charm - beautiful gardens & big rooms with a terrazzo bath. The hotel is small, which I love & all the rooms are close by the pool.

We paid extra for 2 floor mattresses for the kids

King size bed

Our room wasn't going to be ready for a few hours, so we walk about 200 m down the road to the beach.  We turned right & followed the beach path until we came to La Plancha.  It was a nice spot to sit & watch the surf while we had a coffee & the kids had a milkshake.

Love the sequins & colours of this sarong I bought for 50,000rp  - probably could of bargained the lady harder, but was happy enough with the price.

After La Plancha, we head back to the hotel pool to cool off. The pool area is lovely with lots of plants & a massage hut, however the pool surface could do with re-painting.

Welcome drink

Lunch by the pool... Nasi goreng special & the kids enjoy a cheeseburger & chips

Cheap eats with no added tax

After lunch, we head up Jl Dhyana Pura to explore our surroundings & pick up brochures from the many day spas. Some are better than others & for about $5 more you can get a treatment at one of the newer places. On the way back, I stop in at Santai Day Spa (not to be confused with the one on Jl Padma Utara). It's a very clean & modern spa under Australian management. I have a hair creme bath for 150,000 & it's the BEST I've ever had! You even get to choose which fragrance oil goes in with the conditioner.  Hoping to come back for a package deal for 220,000 where there's a choice of 2 treatments - massage, hair creme bath or foot massage to name a few.

Across from Santai Day Spa is another new spa called Spa Bali Seminyak. It must be very popular as there are plenty of people waiting. I book 2 treatments for tomorrow - a facial & another hair creme bath.

Around 5pm we head to La Plancha for sunset drinks on their bean bags. It is really busy & we have to wait for someone to leave before we sit down. Kids enjoy themselves playing on the sand while we enjoy a few cold Bintangs. Great chill out music & watching the sunset with a cold beer...ahhhh

After La Plancha we walk the beachfront path south towards Legian. It's Wednesday night & if my memory serves me correct, a live band plays at Hitana. We are in luck, the same band is playing - sorry cannot remember the name of the band, but they have a female vocalist & she is very good.

2 for 1 cocktails and a nice meal - I had the portobello mushrooms & a thai beef salad, hubby had a squid & prawn dish and they were happy to split the kids meal of mie goreng on two plates. After a bit of dancing to some songs we requested, it's time to head back to our hotel.
